Mr.Culbertson;who was employment supervisor for General Motors Fisher Body Plant at West Mifflin;was a passenger in a car operated by William James Jones;18;of Homestead;that went out of control on Richland Ave.at 2:25 a.m. Born September 15;1923;in Charleroi;Culbertson lived in Fellsburg the past 10 years;formerly residing in Belle Vernon. He was a member of Fells United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon Lodge No.623;F&AM and was a veteran of World War II;having served as a sergeant in the 11th Airborne Division. The Rev.Henry F.Coffey;87;of Grant St.;Belle Vernon;died on Saturday;May 12;1973;at 3:50 p.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Jacksonville;Fla.on October 11;1885;son of the late Henry F.and Fannie Coffey. He had lived in Belle Vernon the past 22 years and is super anuated minister of the Pittsburgh Conference of Third Episcopal District of the AME Church. Mr.Coffey had served several churches in the Mon Valley and at present was associate pastor of Wayman AME Church;Monessen. He also belonged to Twin Lodge 67 F&AM;Pricedale;NAACP and Golden Age Assembly;both of Belle Vernon. He was chaplain of the 11th Masonic District and was past worthy patron of the Star of Bethlehem Chapter 34;Monessen. Surviving are his widow;Dorothy;three daughters;Mrs.Gladys Wyche of Colorado Springs;Colo.;Mrs.Fannie Bennett and Mrs.Ruby Peoples;both of Pittsburgh;three sons;Frederick O.Coffey and Henry T.Coffey III;both of Pittsburgh;and Emmett A.Coffey of Cedarsville;Ohio;one sister;Tillie Coffey of New york City;15 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Elio Checchi;58;of 509 South 14th St.;Monessen;died suddenly Sunday;March 25;1973 at 7:40 a.m.in the Allenport Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.of an apparent heart attack. He was a member of St.Leonard R.C.church;Monessen;and a life member of the Belle Vernon Fire Department. He had served as captain;lieutenant and trustee with the fire company and remained an active member even after moving to Monessen from Belle Vernon nine years ago. Mr.Checchi was a member of Garibaldi Lodge;Dunlevy and Belle Vernon American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II;serving in the U.S.Army;and worked as gang leader in the construction department at Allenport. She also belonged to the Rosary-Altar Society of the parish and the Ladies of Italian Mutual Aid Society and NIPA Auxiliary;all of Monessen. Mrs.Cardelli was preceded in death by her husband;Theodore;in 1951.
