Willaim J.Ellis of 2988 East 123rd St.;Cleveland;Ohio;formerly of Donora;died at 9 a.m.Friday;Aug.15;1975;in Cleveland Clinic. He was 56. Mr.Ellis was born in Montgomery;Ala.;on Feb.16;1919;son of the late James and Alberta Thomas Ellis. He came to Donora at an early age and attended Donora schools. He was a veteran of World War II;Having served as a corporal in the U.S.Army. Mr.Ellis was a former member of First Baptist Church;Donora. He moved from Donora to Cleveland in 1953. Surviving are one son;Cornell Ellis of Daisytown;three brothers;George Ellis and Robert Ellis;both of Donora;and Edward Ellis of Clariton;five sisters;Mrs.Lillian Thomas of Donora;Mrs.Mamie Pickett of Cincinnati;Ohio;Mrs.Mary Harris of Garnerville;N.Y.;Ruth Ellis and Mrs.Marie Gardner;both of Donora;and five grandchildren. Born April 15;1906;in Conellsville;he was a son of the late Charles and Emma Zimmer Eisley. Mr.Eisley had resided in Monessen for many years prior to moving to Florida. He was an employee of the Irvin Works of U.S.Steel Corp.;Dravosburg;until his retirement 11 years ago. Mr.Eisley was preceded in death by a daughter;Mirna Lutz in 1958;his first wife;Elvira Lafever Eisley in 1967;seven brothers and three sisters. Surviving are his second wife;Gloria;one daughter;Mrs.David (Diane) Jones of Orlando;Fla.;four sisters;Mrs.Lucille Shaw of Greensburg;Mrs.James (Caroline) Boord and Mrs.J.Thomas (Viva) Watson;both of Monessen;Mrs.Charles (Ora) Bradley of North Charleroi;and four grandchildren. Robert T.Evans of 9 Aliquippa Ave.;Monessen;died suddenly at 2:30 a.m.Friday;June 27;1975 in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Mr.Evans;62;had been admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. Born in Fairhope;he had lived all his life in the Mon Valley. He moved to Monessen from Charleroi in 1966. Mr.Evans was a carpenter by trade and had been employed as a maintenance man at Brookvale Mfg.Co. in Rostraver Twp.until May 1974. Surviving are his widow;Mary Payton Evans;two sons;Robert R.and Thomas D.;both of Monessen;two sisters;Mrs.Isaac (Hazel) Jenkins of Monongahela R.D.1 and Mrs.James (Olive) Payton of Charleroi;three brothers;Joseph Evans of Charleroi;George Evans of Pricedale and Alden Evans of Donora;10 grandchildren;and a number of nieces and nephews.
