She was born in Punxsutawney on February 11;1899;the daughter of the late John and Barbara Cook Hunter. Mrs.Emelo was preceded in death by her husband;Frederick;in 1952;a son;Thomas;in 1966 and a grandson;Frederick Samuel in 1946. Surviving are one daughter;Mrs.Lenhart (Elizabeth) Kollar of North Charleroi;with whom she made her home;one brother;Jack Hunter of Baltimore;Md.;one sister;Mrs.Mima Nelson of Frostberg;Md.;four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. George Thomas Etheridge;60;of 15102 Fox Rd.;Detroit;Mich.;formerly of Belle Vernon;died unexpectedly Tuesday in LaGrange Hospital in LeGrange;Ga. Born Sept.27;1911;he was a son of the late George and Flora Price Etheridge. He was a retired executive of American Motors in Detroit. He was a member of St.Paul’s Presbyterian Church of Livonia;Mich.;and president of the Western Golf and Country Club of Detroit. Mr.Etheridge served on the Governor’s Commission on Mental Health Statutes Review in Michigan. He was also a director of the Michigan State Association for Retarded Children and was appointed to President Richard M.Nixon’s Special Task Force on Mental Retardation. Surviving are his widow;Ellen Torrance Etheridge;and a son;Michael T.;both of Detroit.
