Mr.Gillingham was born Oct.18;1888;in Sunnyside;Allegheny County;a son of the late John W.and Martha Rue Gillingham. He had been a resident of Belle Vernon the past 53 years and retired in 1960 as a locomotive engineer after 43 years of service with Monessen Southwestern Railway of the former Pittsburgh Steel Co. He belonged to United Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon. He is survived by his widow;Lydia Curl Gillingham;two daughters;Mrs.John (Dorothy) Bell and Mrs.Charles (Eleaner) Stark;both of Belle Vernon;a brother;A.Ross Gillingham of Blairsville;two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
