DESCENDANT OF MONESSEN’S FIRST LANDOWNER DIES
Mrs. Pearle M. Kisor; 78; whose late parents; William J. and Mary L. (Miller) Manown; were the
original landowners of the city of Monessen; died suddenly at 9:25 a.m. Sunday in Monongahela Memorial
Hospital. Mrs. Kisor had been admitted to the hospital at 8:15 a.m. the same day.
She lived at 1093 State Road in Monessen.
Mrs. Kisor; who was born in Rostraver Twp.; was a member if the First Baptist Church of Monessen.
Surviving are her husband; T. W. Kisor; two daughters; Mrs. John (Oella) Lindner of Milton; Pa.; and
Mrs. Albert (Rebecca) Kundrat of Long Shore; Valparaiso; Ind.; two sons; Manown of Evanston; Ill.; and Ted
W. of Flemington; N. J.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends are being receiving at the H. Denver Rhome Funeral Home in Monessen.

Andrew A.Koslosky;57;of 215 Graham St.;Belle Vernon;died today at 10:15 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mr.Koslosky;who was an inspector of the oil well tubing department at the Allenport plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co.;had been off work the past two months because of illness. He had lived in Belle Vernon over 40 years and was a member of St.Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church there. Mr.Koslosky was born at Jacobs Creek on June 25;1908. Surviving are his widow;Angelina (McCune) Koslosky;two daughters;Mrs.Donald (Gloria)McClintock of Belle Vernon and Andrea at home;a brother;James of Belle Vernon;one sister;Mrs.Frank O’Leary of Belle Vernon;and two grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;after 7 p.m.May 28. Service there Monday;May 29 at 11 a.m. followed by Mass in St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;at 11:30 a.m. The Rev.Martin J.O’Toole;pastor will officiate. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. George P.Kyle Sr.;87;of 724 Speer St.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday May 21;1966;at 6:45 p.m. in Haven Crest Nursing and Convalescent Home at Monongahela R.D. Mr.Kyle was a retired employee of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Born in Belle Vernon on Jan.27;1879;he was the son of the late James and Elmira (Smock) Kyle. He is survived by six sons;Robert;John and George Jr. of Belle Vernon;Eugene of Rockford;Ill.;Charles of Gary.Ind.;and Ralph of Richmond;Va.;three daughters;Mrs.Michael (Grace) Mustybrook of Monessen;Mrs.Vernon (Elmira) Luce of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Denise Paluso of Donora;twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs.Catherine (Gondusky) Kroskie;52;of 17 Marion Villa;Belle Vernon;died suddenly yesterday at noon in Charleroi-Monessen hospital. Mrs.Kroskie was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church of Fayette City and Polish National Alliance Lodge of Arnold City. She was born in Jefferson Twp.;Fayette County on Feb.7;1913. Surviving are one son;Stanley Larry Kroskie of Coal Center R.D.1;two daughters;Mrs.John (Wanda) Sever of Washington;PA.;and Kathy Kroskie of Syracuse;N.Y.;one brother;Joseph Gondusky of Carthage;N.Y.;three sisters;Mrs. Della Kroskie of Marion Villa;Mrs. Mary Swalgen of Peabody;Mass.;and Mrs. Helen Popcum of Syracuse;N.Y.;six grandchildren. Peter Krivda;20;of Gillespie;was killed Tuesday morning;Aug.24;1965;in a one-car accident in Monongahela. He was dead on arrival at Monongahela hospital. He died of multiple cuts and fractures. He was a passenger in an auto driven by Leonard Vargo;18;of Fayette City;who was in guarded condition with multiple injuries. Another passanger in the Vargo machine;19-year-old Gerald Layhew of Donora;was in serious condition. Monongahela police said the fatal crash occurred in Route 88 in the southern section of the community in an area locally known as Cemetery Rd. Vargo’s machine failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a retaining wall. The vehicle was demolished. He was single and lived with his parents;Frank and Margaret Honeycheck Krivda of Gillespie. In addition to his parents;he is survived by two brothers;George and Robert;and a sister;Mary Anna;all at home;and his paternal grandmother;Mrs.Anna Krivda of Fayette City R.D.1. Prayer services for the victim will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m.in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;followed by Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit R.C.Church;Fayette City. Rev.William Gavron will officiate. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
