The victim was given preliminary treatment at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital before being transferred to the Pittsburgh institution. Mr.Koncik;who was born in Monessen;was graduated from Monessen High School with the Class of 1952. He was a member of St.John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church of Monessen and its choir. He served with the U.S.Army in the Korean Conflict. His father;Charles;died in Nov.;1953. Surviving are his widow;Helen Backo Konick;two daughters;Helen Marie and Dian;and a son;Jeffrey Michael;all at home;his mother;Mrs.Mary Mihalick Konick of Monessen;two sisters;Mrs.Michael (Mary) Kunder and Mrs.Francis (Ann) Burger;both of Monessen;a brother;Charles of Crafton;several nieces and nephews.Friends will be received at the H.Denver Rhome Funeral Home;Monessen;after 7 p.m.Jan.20.
