Mr.Melnick;who had come for a holiday visit;was born in Fairhope;Aug.23;1907. He moved to Weirton from this vicinity about 30 years ago. He was employed by the Weirton Steel Corp.;and was a member of St.Mary’s Greek Catholic Church;Weirton;and a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose;688;of Weirton. Preceded in death by his wife;Mary Kurtak Melnick;Nov.24;1960;he is survived by his mother;Mrs.Mary Melnick;Belle Vernon;one brother;Walter A.Melnick;Belle Vernon;and one sister;Mrs.Mary Asomonga of Mifflin Twp. Friends will be recieved at the Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;after 7 o’clock tonight. Blessing service there Friday;Dec.30;1960;at 9:15 a.m.will be followed by Requiem Mass at St.Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church;Monessen;in charge of the Rev.Andrew D.Parvensky. Parastas service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday evening at seven o’clock. Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is the funeral director.

She was born in Monessen;Nov.8;1910;the daughter of Andrew and Mary Kurtak. She moved to Weirton in 1930;and was a member of St.Mary’s Greek Catholic Church;Weirton. She is survived by her husband;Michael Melnick;her parents;Mr.and Mrs.Andrew Kurtak;Monessen;three brothers;Michael;Andrew and Joseph Kurtak of Monessen;two sisters;Mrs.Anna Klawcho and Mrs.Elizabeth Shirley of Pricedale. Friends are being received at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home;3219 Main St.;Weirton;Friday and Saturday. The remains will be removed to the Check Home for Funerals;Monessen on Sunday morning. Services there Monday;Nov.28;1960;at 10 a.m.will be followed by additional rites at St.Mary’s Byzantine Rite Catholic Church;Monessen. Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery. Death was from natural causes;
according to Westmoreland
County Coroner Stephen D. Yoney;
Monessen.
For many vears Mr McQuaide
was associated with the Coughenour
Plumbing and Heating Co.
located next to the State Armory
at Ninth St. and Donner Ave. He
later acquired the business and
named it the McQuaide Plumbing
and Heating Co. He also sold
gasoline and oil at the establishment.
The body was taken to the
Yoney Funeral Home; Monessen.
McQuaide has no known relatives.

Mrs.Maude Madden Miller;for many years a teacher of piano in Monessen;died suddenly Tuesday;Sept.27;1960;at 8:15 a.m.at her home;689 McKee Ave.;Monessen. Mrs.Miller was born in Three Springs;Huntington County;and had resided in Monessen for 50 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church;Monessen and the Monessen Women’s Club. Surviving are her husband;Clyde W.Miller;two sisters;Mrs.Jane Wilson of Mt.Union and Mrs.Eunice Hoffman of Altoona;a half-sister;Margaret Hockenbery;a teacher in the Monroeville schools and a half-brother;John Hockenbery of LaGrange;Ill. Friends are being received at the H.Denver Rhome Funeral Home;McKee Ave.;Monessen;where funeral services will be held Friday;Sept.;30;at 1:30 p.m. The Rev.Jackson A.Gabany;pastor of the First Methodist Church;Monessen will officiate.
