Funeral services were held Friday afternoon;November 27;1953;for Mrs.Bessie Mary Speer;who died suddenly on Wednesday morning;November 25;1953; at the home of her daughter;Mrs.William Overand in Webster. Born in Belle Vernon;Jan.27;1878;she was the daughter of Henry and Frances Lange. She began teaching at the age of 16 in Webster and later taught school in Belle Vernon and Gibsonton befor joining the Donora faculty in 1912;where she taught school for 36 years. She is survived by three daughters;Mrs.Samuel Gilmore;and Mrs.William Overand;of Webster;and Mrs.George Hughes;of California;a brother;Wooda Lange;of Belle Vernon and the following sisters;Mrs.Edna Ammon;of Donora;Mrs.Catherine Houseman;of West Newton;Mrs. Grace Fehan;Mrs.Fannie Ammon and Mrs.Jess Donaldson;all of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Frances West;of Pittsburgh. Three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. Interment was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Oliver A.Sivak;207 Aliquippa avenue;Monessen;aged 33 years;died suddenly Monday;Oct.5;1953;at 10:45 a.m.at his home. He was a veteran of World War II;having served in the U.S.Army. He is survived by his wife;Mrs.Frances Reach Sivak;a daughter;Dorian;his father;Michael Sivak of Monessen;three brothers;John of McKeesport;Michael;Jr.of Webster;and George of Monessen;two sisters;Mrs.Marie Mizerik of Ford City and Mrs.Irene Sharrow of Monessen. Friends are being received at the Yoney Funeral Home on Schoonmaker avenue.

Mrs. Mattie Spang;440 Speer street;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Aug.21;1953;in Charleroi-Monessen hospital.  Surviving are a daughter;Mrs.Dorothy Gaskill;of Dunlevy;two sons;Kenneth;of Apollo;and Harold;of Washington;D.C.;three sisters;Mrs.Mayme Culler;of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Oilve King;of Pittsburgh;and Mrs.Nette Campbell;of Greenville;Ill.;nine grandchildren;and three great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home;Broad avenue;from 1 to 5 in the afternoon and from 7 to 10 o’clock in the evening.  Services will be held in the Free Methodist Church of Belle Vernon;Tuesday;August 25;1953;at 2:30 p.m.;in charge of Rev.R.B.Campbell.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.
