Alfred Ross;78;of 1015 Lincoln Ave.;Charleroi;formerly of Monessen and Fayette City;died Friday;March 5;1976;at 12:10 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr.Ross was the owner of The Foster House at the corner of Eighth St.and Donner Ave.in Monessen from 1936 until his retirement in 1969. He was a former Democratic county committeeman for Westmoreland County in the city of Monessen under Gov.George Earl and President Franklin D.Roosevelt from 1936 to 1940. Mr.Ross was born in Brooklyn;N.Y.;son of the late Domonick and Philomea Ferraro Ross. He served with Company E.5th replacemnt regiment at Camp Jordon;Atlanta;Ga.during World War I. His wife;Marie Ross;died on April 1;1972.
