For 22 years Mr.Shaffer was a bricklayer for the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a member of st.Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church and American Legion Post 659;both of Belle Vernon. He was a veteran of World War II;having served with the United States Navy.
