Mrs.Bessie Edwards Turney;85;of 718 Fayette St.;Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;Dec.1;1971;at 7:30 p.m.in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.  Mrs.Turney was the widow of Thomas Joseph Turney;who died Oct.6;1966.  She is survived by three daughters;Mrs.Dorothy Bell of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Herman (Dolores) Blair of Perryopolis and Mrs.Theodore (Bernice) Gaskell of Monongahela R.D.;one son;David J.Turney of Belle Vernon;four grandchildren;four great-grandchildren;one brother;Porter Edwards of Belle Vernon;and one sister;Mrs.Gordon Lane of Myersdale.  Friends are being received at the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home;Perryopolis;from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.Friday.  Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday;Dec.4;1971 at 11 a.m.;with Dr.S.Arthur Talman;pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon;officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Blair-Lowther funeral directors in charge.

Frank Tallerico;54;of 4 Hutton St.;Gaithersburg;Md.;died Sunday;Nov.14;1971;in Suburban Hospital;Bethesda;Md. The son of Salvatore (Sam) and Clare Bruno Tallerico;he was born in Belle Vernon on June 10;1917. He had lived in the washington;D.C.area for the last 34 years and was purchasing agent for the National Bureau of Standards at Gaithersburg. Mr.Tallerico is survived by his widow;Mrs.Martha Glotfelty Tallerico;one son;Larry A.at home;one daughter;Linda A.of Frostburg;Md.;his parents;Mr.and Mrs.Salvatore Tallerico of Belle Vernon;and two brothers;John B.of Gaithersburg and Peter B.of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. this evening at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;where visiting hours are 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be held from the funeral home Wednesday;Nov.17;1971;at 11:30 a.m.;with interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Dr. Amerigo Frank Tesi; 63; a native
of Belle Vernon; a professor
of clothing and textiles at
Pennsylvania State University;
died Tuesday;March 30;1971; of an apparent
heart attack.
He was born in Belle Vernon on April 13;1907;a son ot the late
Joseph and Caroline Marini
Tesi. He joined the Penn State
faculty in 1962; and was widely
known in the textiles industry.
He was author of sections on
acetate and triacetate fibers of
a book; Man-Made Textile
Encyclopedia. and co-author of
a chapter on the same fibers
in Encyclopedia on Chemical
Technology. He had published
many articles in journals and
trade publications on textiles;
research; dyeing and finishing
and standards for consumer
goods. |
Surviving are his widow; Mrs.
Inez Del Debbio Tesi; a son;Kenneth J.of Birmingham;Mich.;
two daughters;Mrs.George Kantor of Dayton;Ohio;and Mrs.Jerry Ogler of Tampa;Fla.;one brother; Guido Tesi
of Belle Vernon; two sisters;
Mrs Charles Gennaula of
Charleroi and Mrs. Albert
Venneri of Monessen; and six
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday;April 2;1971. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
