Homer E.Buck died suddenly at the home of a physician in Belle Vernon;Friday evening;January 31. He was a teacher of piano in Monessen and vicinity for a number of years. During the World War;he gave up his profession to serve in the Army as a member of the U.S.Military band. Following the war;he returned to Monessen and resumed his classes;and for a number of years has resided at the Union hotel. He is survived by a brother;Howard Buck of Auburn;N.Y.;and a sister;Miss Gladys Buck of Waterloo;N.Y. Friends will be received at the Woodward Home for Funerals until tomorrow evening at 7:30 o’clock;when services will be conducted in charge of Rev.R.F.Steininger;pastor of St.Paul’s Lutheran Church. Military services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at the Veteran’s Plot;Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs.Bertha Brazak;aged 23 years;died unexpectedly the afternoon of Wednesday;December 13;1939;in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 2 o’clock after a brief illness. She had been ill for two weeks;but her passing came as a shock. She was the wife of Andrew Brazack and resided at 716 Green street;Belle Vernon. Surviving besides her husband are one son;Buster;two stepchildren;Mary Jane and Joseph;her parents;Mr.and Mrs.Joseph Slaboda of North Charleroi;five sisters;Mrs.Anna Decovitch of Detroit;Mrs.Mary Gency of Nemacolin;Mrs.Rose DeHainaut of North Charleroi;Mrs.Tillie Richey of Naomi and Miss Dorothy Jean Slaboda of North Charleroi;and five brothers;John Slaboda of Charleroi;Thomas and Joseph Slaboda of North Charleroi.Steve Slaboda of Va.;and Paul Slaboda of Nemacolin. The remains are at the home of her parents at 536 Conrad avenue;North Charleroi. Friends will be received at the home of her parents;Mr.and Mrs.Joseph Slaboda of North Charleroi;until Saturday morning when services will be held at 9 o’clock in St.Jerome’s R.C.church. A resident of Belle Vernon and vicinity during his entire life;George Beaumont died Monday morning;September 29;1941; at 3:45 a.m. at
his home; near the La Grange school; following a lingering illness. He was aged 78 years. He was a member of
Knights of Pythias lodge of
Smithton for many years.

John Jacob Boltze;aged 79 years;well known painter of Belle Vernon;died Sunday morning;July 27;1941;at 6 a.m. after a lingering illness. Mr.Boltze for almost a generation has been a community figure and anxious inquiries have been made for several weeks about his condition. He is survived by a daughter;Mrs.Catherine Athey of Belle Vernon;two sons;John of Pittsburgh;Arnold;of New Jersey;and two grandchildren. The remains will lie at rest in the Toner Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;until Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.;July 29;1941;when services will be conducted by Rev.P.F.Mundy of the Baptist Church of Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon cemetery. Harold R.Toner will be the funeral director in charge.
