Anthony Devroude;aged 56 years;a former well known resident of this section;died yesterday morning;June 30th;1930;at two o’clock in the Philadelphia hospital;following an illness of two years of heart trouble. He moved from North Charleroi six years ago to Philadelphia. He is survived by his widow;five daughters;Mrs.Louis Booth;at Brownsville;Mrs.Dave Anderson;Allenport;Mrs.Wallace Ellis;Chester;Lorraine;in Philadelphia;and Mrs.Frank Francis;of North Charleroi;three sons;Joseph;George and Walter;all of Philadelphia;his mother;Mrs.Nellie Mathews;of Turtle Creek;and two brothers;Charles at Essington;and Frank in North Side;Pittsburgh. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. The remains will arrive here tomorrow morning and will be taken to the home of his daughter;Mrs.Frank Francis;at 515 Center Avenue;North Charleroi;from which place funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o’clock;conducted by Rev.Frank Montgomery;pastor of the Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

George Theodore Downer;aged 81 years;died at the home of his daughter;Mrs.Otto Karasch;at Philadelphia;Pa.;Monday March 3;1930;at 1:30 p.m. He was well known in this vicinity as his home was at Naomi;and Fayette City for a number of years. He was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Tippins;who preceded him in death thirteen years ago. He leaves the following children to mourn his loss;Frank R.Downer;of Coverdale;Wilbert M.Downer;of Warden;Pa.;and Mrs.Bertha G.Karasch;of Philadelphia. Eight grandchildren;twelve great-grandchildren and three brothers;Joe;Robert and John;all of Allenport;also survive. The remains arrived at the home of his nephew;Reese Nicholas;at Allenport on Tuesday night from which place funeral services will be held on Thursday;the 6th;at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be made in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
