He was born Dec.20;1876 in Glassboro;N.J.;the son of the late Samuel Ellison and Sarah E.Margerum Githens. He had been employed at the Allenport Plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Co.for 37 years and retired as chief shipper a month ago. He is survived by his wife;Mrs.Elma Inez Githens;whom he married on Dec.25;1900;three daughters;Mrs.Harold Lambert;North Charleroi;Mrs.Arthur McSteen;Greensburg;Mrs.James Chalfant;Belle Vernon;five sons;William S.;Samuel E.;Lloyd K.;Robert T.;and Albert W.;one brother;Ashbrook L.Githens;of Charleston;W.Va.and 12 grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home in Belle Vernon until Monday;Nov.7;at 2 p.m.when services will be held in charge of Rev.George K.of the Presbyterian Church;Harold R.Toner;funeral director.

He was born January 22;1881;and was a member of St.Jerome’s church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife;Margaret McHenry Gartland;four sons;Edward at home;James of Columbus;Ohio;and Thomas and John Gartland of Youngstown;Ohio;three daughters;Mrs.Arthur Cochenour of West Newton;Mrs.Edward Burns and Mrs.Lester Gales of Speers;and one brother;Thomas of Youngstown;and eleven grandchildren.
