Harry C.Howarth;17;76 Main St.;Pricedale;a senior at Rostraver High School;was accidentally shot in the forehead and died of the wound Saturday;November 11;1944;at 8 p.m.in a hospital at Franklin;Pa. The accident occurred at 3:45 p.m. He was born June 14;1927. He is survived by his parents;Mr.and Mrs.Charles Howarth;two brothers;Corporal John Howarth in Germany;and George at home;and one sister;Mrs.Margaret Lisser of Cleveland;Ohio. Friends will be received t the late home. Services will be held there;Wednesday;November 15;1944;at 2:30 p.m. Rev.George Guest will have charge of services and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Miss Barbara Horan;68;died Wednesday;November 8;1944;at the home of her brother;Peter Horan;309 Schoonmaker avenue;Monessen;where she had resided for the past six years. Miss Horan was a life long member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of the Sacred Heart Society of St.Leonard’s Church. She is survived by two brothers;Peter;of Monessen and James of Barnesboro;Pa. A sister;Mrs.Nora Wildman of Barnesboro;also survives. Friends are being received at the Woodward Home for Funerals where brief services will be held Saturday;Novemvber 11;at 9 a.m.;followed by additional rites at St.Leonard’s Church with Rev.Owen J.Kirby officiating.
