While working on a customer in his chair;Joseph A.Johnson;65;well known Monessen barber;dropped dead Thursday;April 10 at 4:30 p.m. Johnson was able to pitch forward as he went about his tonsorial duties and slumped to the floor. He was pronounced dead of a heart attack by the doctor who was called. Johnson;while long engaged in the barber business in Monessen;lived however at 513 Bluff street;Belle Vernon. He had resided there for 22 years and was as well known in Belle Vernon as Monessen. He was a member of the Episcopal church of Kittanning. His wife Etta;five daughters and one son survive. They are Mrs. Solomon Sherild of Belle Vernon.Mrs.Wayne Osborne;Belle Vernon;Edith;Barbara and Dorothy at home. One son;Arthur;lives in Pittsburgh. Three grandchildren also survive. Friends are being received at the late home in Belle Vernon where funeral services will be held Monday afternoon;April 14;at 2 o’clock. Interment will be in Belle Vernon cemetery. Chas.L.Melenyzer is the funeral director.

Funeral services for Paul Holmes Junk;who died Thursday;June 29;1939;at Cresson sanitarium;will be held from the late home;449 Donner avenue;Saturday;July 1;1939;at 1 o’clock. Rev.J.R.McFarland;pastor of the First Presbyterian Church;will officiate. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Surviving are his parents;Mr.and Mrs.Harry C.Junk;five brothers;Joseph;Orlo;John;Richard and Harry;Jr.;and two sisters;Betty and Beverly Ann;all of Monessen. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Charleroi. The deceased was formerly of Charleroi and was well-known to a large following of local friends.
