John Kofman;aged 63 years;died Saturday afternoon;December 11;1937 at 1:40 o’clock at his late home in the Speers Hill district. He was stricken by a sudden attack of cerebral apoplexy two hours before his death. He had been in good health;previous to the attack. Born July 12;1874;in Czechoslovakia;Mr.Kofman resided at Speer Hill for the past 10 years. He was employed as a janitor at the Allenport plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Company;and was a member of St.Jerome’s Catholic Church of Charleroi. Surviving are his wife;Mary Kofamn;two daughters;Mrs.Mary Cerezo;of Speers;and Miss Victoria Kofman;at home;two sons;William;of Speers;and Joseph of Lynnwood;and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday;December;14;at 9 a.m. in St.Jerome’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs.Anna Kucera;aged 65 years;ill for the past several months;died Sunday;August 1;1937;at 9:55 p.m.at the home of a daughter;Mrs.Susan Moravek;in Coraopolis;with whom she had been visiting for a few days. The deceased was born in Austria-Hungary but had resided in Charleroi for many years. She was a member of the local St.John Slovak Lutheran Church. The remains arrived at her late residence;1215 McKean avenue;Monday;August 2;1937;from where funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock in charge of Rev.Andrew B.Svasko;pastor of St.John’s Slovak Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Surviving are one daughter;Mrs.Susan Motavek;of Coraopolis;one son;George Kucera;of Charleroi;one granddaughter;Mathilda Moraveck;of Coraopolis;one sister and one brother in Europe.

Thursday;July 1;1937; for Howard R. Kerr;40;Fayette City World War veteran;
killed instantly shortly after 1 P.M. Wednesday;June 30;1937;when thrown against
a scaffold from a box car while he
was working in the transportation department at Monessen
plant of the Pittsburgh Steel
Company.
Mr.Kerr was reported to have died
of internal injuries when a box
car which he had been braking;
struck a gondola car ahead with
such force that the impact knocked him from the car and against
the scaffold. His body was taken
to a Fayette City mortuary.
Born May 20; 1897; in Wilkinsburg; son of the late John R. and
Serrah Kerr; he saw service in the
World War. He was a member
of the Fayette City Presbyterian
Church and the Men’s Bible class
of that institution.
His wife; Edith Kerr; nee Hill;
four small children at home; and
sister; Mrs. Helen Hepler; of
Wilkinsburg; survive.
Military funeral services will
be held at 2:30 P. M. Saturday
in the Fayette City Presbyterian
Church. Rev. Russell Hilty; pastor of the church; will officiate.
Interment will be made in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
