Edward Joseph Lahey;a resident of Monessen for the past 36 years;died Monday night;December 6;1943;at his home;20 Knox avenue;following a lingering illness. Formerly in the employ of the Pittsburgh Steel Company;he has been retired for some time. Surviving are seven children: Mrs.John Tormay;Monessen;Katherine;Nelle;Anna;Agnes and David;all at home and Sergeant Edward Lahey;stationed in Panama. Friends are being received at the home. Funeral services will be held Thursday;December 9;1943;at 9 a.m.from the St.Leonard’s R.C.Church;with Father Owen J.Kirby officiating. Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery. Hazel A.Lenhart;age 47 years;died at her home at 212 Market Street;Belle Vernon;Monday;September 27;1973 at 11:30 a.m.after a brief illness. A member of the Belle Vernon Christian Church;she is survived by one son;Walter Lenhart of Belle Vernon;her father;Captain Ernest Lenhart;one brother;Edward of Monongahela;and five sisters;Mrs.Thomas Hewitt of Lincoln Place;Mrs.Earl Hewitt of Pittsburgh;Mrs.Ed Morgan of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Richard Allen of Monessen and another sister from Monongahela. Friends will be received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home. Services will be held there Thursday;September 30;1943 at 2:30 p.m. Rev.J.W.Kalages will have charge of services and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
