The body of Wassil Moneta;79;a retired coal miner of 943 Brown street;Pricedale;was recovered from the Monongahela River Friday afternoon;June 13;1947. Survivors include one daughter;Mrs.McCauley of Belle Vernon;three sons;Tony of Belle Vernon;Peter and Joseph Liposchok of McKeesport;and a sister;Mrs.Daisy Gubic of Monessen. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home. Friends will be received there until Sunday at noon. Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.;on Sunday June 15;1947;and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.

James R.Mitchell;41;Belle Vernon football and basketball official;died suddenly last night;Friday;May 16;1947;at his home;602 Broad Avenue;North Belle Vernon. He had been a barber in Belle Vernon for the past twenty-five years. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Second Replacement Depot;E.T.O. and was a sanctioned referee of the W.P.I.A.L. He was a member of the Belle Vernon Musical Society and the Italian Beneficial Society;Post No.659;American Legion. Surviving are his wife;Janie Stringhill Mitchell;his mother;Mrs.Mary Mitchell;two brothers;Frank of Dunbar;W.Va.;Michael of Fairhope and two sisters;Mrs.Carrie Conti;Monessen;and Mrs.Madeline Zucconi;Belle Vernon.Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home.
