Private Robert E.Riskey;25;of 27 Main street;Belle Vernon;was killed in action at Okinawa;Japan on May 10;1945;while serving with the U.S.Marine Corps. His remains will arrive in Charleroi Friday Feb.18;1949;between 10 & 11 a.m.and will be taken to the Toner Funeral Home in Belle Vernon. He was born on July 14;1919. He had been employed at the Allenport Plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. He is survived by his parents;Steve & Mary E.Smith Riskey;his widow;Mary Riskey;two daughters;a brother;John and two sisters;Margaret and Helen.

John Ralston;Jr.;aged 52 years;died Monday;Sept.13;1948 at 2:15 a.m.at his home on South Fourteenth street. He has been bedfast since April. Surviving are his widow;Mrs.Maude Ralston;two sons;Jack and James;at home;his parents;Mr.and Mrs.John Ralston of Pittsburg;Calif.;a sister;Mrs.Martha Ascherl;also of Pittsburg;a brother;Frank of Cleveland;Ohio. Mr.Ralston worked at the Pittsburgh Steel Co.for the past 30 years;and for the past 10 years was superintendent of the galvanizing department. He was a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church;was affiliated with the Monessen Sportsmen’s Association;the Auxiliary Police;the Boy Scouts;and was on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Steel Credit Union. Friends will be received at the Harper Memorial Chapel where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon;Sept.15;at 2 p.m. in charge of the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harry Harper;funeral director in charge.
