A former Monessen woman;Mrs.Sophie Dudzik Stoneking;of Akron;Ohio;died Sunday;Oct.15;1950; at 5 o’clock in the City Hospital at East Liverpool;Ohio;as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile and trailer-truck collision last Monday morning;Oct.9;1950;at 11 a.m. The accident;which involved a car in which Mrs.Stoneking;her husband;Herbert A.Stoneking;and their two children were riding;occurred just outside East Liverpool. Her husband is still a patient in City hospital;but the children escaped uninjured. Mrs.Stoneking graduated from Monessen High School in 1937. She is survived by her husband;Herbert;her two daughters;Susan Carol;aged 2;and Kathy Ellen;aged 1;her father;Joseph Dudzik;of Monessen;two brothers;John of Monessen;and Louis of Ambridge. Friends will be received at the Check Home for Funerals. Services will be held there Thursday;October 19;1950;at 9:00 o’clock and additional services will be held in St.Leonard’s Church;Monessen. Mrs.Mary Shimko;well known resident of the Fayette City district; died at the home of her daughter Mrs.Margaret Pozum;Fayette City;R.D.;Sunday;Aug.6;1950. Mrs.Shimko was born in Czechoslavia Nov.1;1884. She was a member of St.Edwards Roman Catholic Church.
