He retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;where he worked for 43 years. Survivors include his wife of 60 years;Nellie Bakaitis Halgas;two brothers and sisters-in-law;Joseph and Dorothy Halgas of Arnold City;and Rudy and Virginia Halgas of Belle Vernon;and one sister and brother-in-law;Genevieve and Anthony Zema of Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by one brother;Ernie Halgas. Mr.Guder was a resident of New stanton for the past 17 years;having previously resided in Youngwood and Belle Vernon. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Allenport plant;where he worked as a steelworker. He was a veteran of World War II;having served in the U.S.Army;and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. He is survived by s sister and brother-in-law;Kathryn and James Newbigging of Pontiac;Mich.;two nieces;Joyce Fought of New Stanton and Patricia Ream of Belle Vernon;and three nephews. He was a steelworker for 45 years for Pittsburgh Steel and the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport plant.
