He was a retired coal miner. He is survived by six sons;Joseph H.;Russell S.;Robert T.;all of Charleroi;George A.; of Pricedale;Aiden A.and Nathan A.;of Donora;two daughters;Mrs.Olive Payton;of Charleroi;and Mrs.Isaac Jenkins;of Speers;one brother;Robert McFarland of Monongahela;two sisters;Mrs.Sarah Johnson of California;and Mrs.Rachel Breckenridge;of Fayette City;twenty-six grandchildren and forty-two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home. Services will be held there Thursday;May 23;1957;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.Robert Laing;and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Francis C.Slezak is the funeral director.

Mrs.Margaret M.Edwards;76;of 442 Henry Street;Belle Vernon;died suddenly in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital;Thursday;November 29;1956;at 8 p.m. Mrs.Edwards was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon;and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church there;the Belle Vernon Council;Daughters of America;and the Dames of Malta Sisterhood. She is survived by her husband;Porter Edwards;one sister;Mrs.Elizabeth McVay of Charleroi;four nieces and three nephews. A brother;James R.Hassen;died just two weeks ago;November 15;1956. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home during hours of 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be held there Sunday;December 2;1956;at 7:30 p.m.in charge of Rev.George S.Clarke;and interment will follow Monday morning at 10 o’clock in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
