Helen Lagler;84;of Monessen;died Saturday;June 9;2001;at her residence. She was born April 23;1917;in Grant Town;W.Va.;daughter of the late John Sebastian Pleva and Mary Cernick Pleva. Surviving are a daughter;Lillian Mason Komacko of Monessen;a son;William John Lagler of Lithia Springs;Ga.;grandchildren;Rosemarie Lucas of Alabama;Debra Mason;of Monessen;with whom Mrs.Legler had made her home;William Mason Jr.of Belle Vernon;and Sherrie Lynn Mason of Mt.Lebanon;two great-grandchildren;and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband;William August Lagler;one brother;John Pleva;and three sisters;Anna Zogol;Rose DePasse;and Elizabeth Hlusko. Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;a Golden Rule Funeral Home;from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home Chapel;Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Lena Venneri of Winter Springs;Fla.died Wednesday;March 21;2001. She was born in Smithton and taught elementary school in Belle Vernon for 40 years. She was a hospital volunteer and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon;Pennsylvania;State Education Association;National Education Association;United Methodist Women;L-F13;and the Anita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon. She moved to Florida from Monessen in 1996. Survviving is a daughter;Susan Thomas of Winter Springs;Fla. The Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home;994 E.Altamonte Drive;Altamonte Springs;Fla.
