James Edward King; 53; of Allenport; was called home to rest after a lingering illness on Thursday; May 10; 2003. He was born Oct. 11; 1949; in McKeesport; a son of Beulah King of Allenport and the late Robert Thomas Jr. and stepson of the late Henry King. He was a graduate of California Area High School and attended California University of Pennsylvania. In his early years; he was a Golden Gloves boxer. He loved and enjoyed music as he was a member of several bands; including James King and the Usual Suspects and the James King Band. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Donora. A lifelong homemaker and mother; she had resided in Delmont for the past seven years and was formerly of Belle Vernon. Mrs. Reach was a resident of Washington Township for the past 45 years; having previous1y resided in North Belle Vernon. She was a homemaker and Protestant by faith. Mrs. Reach also was a charter member of the Anita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon and was honored as Mother of the Year by the Anita Garibaldi Society in 1976. She was a devoted cook and worked many hours with Anita Garibaldi Society and Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 dinners. Born Nov. 13; 1930; in North Charleroi; the son of the late Frank and Mary Sharkey Wasco. Mr. Wasco was a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 50 years. He was an active member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon; where he served as an usher. He was a former member of the Parish Council and served with the annual CSC appeal. Mr. Wasco was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Monessen Plant; where he worked as an electrical draftsman. He also served as president of Tri-County Federation of Musicians; Local 592 A.F.M.; he organized annual county parks summer concert series; served as secretary for Labor United; was a private pilot; retired major from the Civil Air Patrol; Auxiliary U.S. Air Force; Search and Rescue Operation; an officer of the Rostraver Flyers and a band leader and accordionist of the Clevelandairs.
