A son of the late Charles L. and Olive Nellie Wherry Bair; he was born Oct. 14; 1908; in Deemston. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon; Belle Vernon Lodge 643 F&AM; Uniontown Lodge of Perfection; Syria Shrine; the Pittsburgh Consistory; York Rite; the Washington County Medical Society; the A.M.A.; the Pennsylvania Medical Association; and a life member of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. Dr. Bair graduated from Schenley High School in 1926; from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1934; and served his residency in Magee-Womens Hospital; Pittsburgh. In 1939 he joined the staff at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and practiced general surgery and obstetrics on Broad Avenue in Belle Vernon for 52 years; retiring in 1986. During World War II; Dr. Bair served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps as a general surgeon from 1941-1945.
