Albert Gallatin Van Hook;aged 64;one of Monongahela’s well-know citizens;died at his home at Monongahela;Sunday morning;May 30;1915. Mr.Van Hook had been ill but had recently recovered. Saturday he felt so well that he made a trip to Pittsburg. Sunday morning he was seized with a paronysm of coughing during which he burst a blood vessel. Death came soon after. The son of Samuel and Marian Van Hook;the deceased was born in Fayette county. He came to Monongahela some years ago. For many years he was engaged in the glass industry;being for long an employee of the American Window Glass company. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Monongahela. He stood high in Masonic circles being a member of the Henry M.Phillips lodge;Monongahela Royal Arch Masons;ME Moriah council;Pittsburg Commandery No.1;Pennsylvania Corsistory. Mr.Van Hook leaves a wife and one son;Leon;who lives in Columbus. He was a relative of Mr.and Mrs.John H.Bowers of Charleroi. The funeral services were held at the late home Tuesday afternoon;;June 1;1915;at 1 o’clock and were in charge of the Knights Templar of Pittsburg. Interment was at Belle Vernon.
