Born February 2; 1926 in Belle Vernon; he was the son of the late Domenico and Josephine Ambrose Mendicino. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; Mr. Mendicino was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church; Belle Vernon; was a veteran of World War II where he served in the US Air Force and was retired from Whg-Pgh Steel; Allenport Plant as a railroad engineer. He was also a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and the Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026. Louise Romano Trozzo; 103; of Belle Vernon; died Thursday; Jan. 26; 2012; at 7:45 a.m. at Golden Living Center; Uniontown. Born April 11; 1908; in Cokeburg; she was the daughter of the late Guerino and Anna Klecki Romano. Mrs. Trozzo was a resident of Belle Vernon since 1929. She was a homemaker and member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; the former St. Sebastian Church Ladies Guild and the former St. Sebastian Legion of Mary; where she helped make many thousands of rosaries. She even had a pair of rosaries go into outer space and orbit the earth. She was also a member of the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas Belle Vernon Court 1522; the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Belle Vernon VFW Post 699; the Anita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon; and helped to deliver Meals on Wheels for many years. Mrs. Trozzo was always at various organizations/clubs in the Belle Vernon area cooking at their fundraising spaghetti dinners. She also donated her time at area nursing homes to visit; play bingo and spend time with the residents. Her longevity was attributed to her daily nip. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Ernest Sonny Trozzo Jr. and wife; Esther; of Uniontown; and John and Beverly Trozzo; of Georgia; daughter and son-in-law; Lou Ann and James Lori; of Belle Vernon; 11 grandchildren; Valarie Kenney; Thomas Lori; Sherie Koontz; Tim Trozzo; Peggy Berkenseher; Daniel Trozzo; Frank Trozzo; Debra Murello; Todd Trozzo; Jody Trozzo and Brenda Beck; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister; Anna Kravec; of Uniontown.
