David J. Larson Jr.; 85; of Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township); died Monday; Feb. 16; 2009; at his home. Born Oct. 23; 1923; in McKeesport; he was a son of the late David J. and Anna Elizabeth Reynolds Larson. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 31 years; Mr. Larson was Protestant by faith. Mr. Larson was a retired career man and veteran of World War II with the Navy as an aviation electrician and enjoyed his career in the Navy. He was a member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA) Chapter 98. He is survived by his wife; Elvera Holmbeck Larson; son and daughter-in-law; Thomas and Mary Ann Larson; of Renfrew; stepson; John W. McGaw; of Knoxville; Tenn.; sister; Anna Elizabeth McQuiston; of Fort Myers; Fla.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Homer; Rudolph; William and Kenneth Larson. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; 724-929-6183. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. James J. Mimidis; of Pricedale Union Church; officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 will conduct services at 7 p.m. Tuesday and The Retired Enlisted Association Chapter 98 will conduct services at 7:30 p.m.; both in the funeral home.
