Elizabeth Richie; 87; of Coal Center; formerly of Monessen; passed away Thursday; May 22; 2008; in Washington County Health Center. She was born Feb. 12; 1921; in Buffalo; N.Y.; a daughter of the late Valentine and Alezebeta Oberlik Hanzlian. She worked as a waitress for Twin Coaches and Rego’s for many years. Mrs. Richie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen; a former member of Firemen’s Club No. 2; Eagles; Ravens and Hungarian clubs; all of Monessen. Mrs. Richie was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are a daughter; Diane and husband Joseph Frederick of Coal Center; son; William C. and wife Linda Dudeck of Charleroi; son Dana R. Mrs. Lang has been a resident of Monessen for over 60 years;and had worked as a presser for Brookvale Clothing Factory. DeVota E. Pierotti; 94; of Elizabethtown; Pa.; formerly of Monessen; passed away Sunday; Dec. 7; 2008. She was born Aug. 9; 1914; in Forward Township; a daughter of the late James R. and Margaret (McClintock) Sadler. She worked as a secretary for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for 34 years and also operated a farm in Forward Township for many years. Mrs. Pierotti was a graduate of Monongahela High School. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen; Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 205 of Monessen and the Friends of the Monessen Library. Surviving is one son; Jay R. Pierotti; of Huntington; Pa.; one daughter and son-in-law; Peggy and Barry Siple; of Delaware; grandchildren; Mark Siple and wife Susie; Scott Siple and wife Kim; and Sara; Matthew and Jason Pierotti; several great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law; Ernest and Kathleen Sadler; of Monongahela; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Raymond F. Pierotti; and four brothers and two sisters. Lewis J. Comer; 75; of Washington; formerly of Rostraver; died Wednesday; November 26; 2008 at home. Born in Smithton on January 10; 1933; he was the son of the late James and Beatrice (Lynn) Comer.
Mr. Comer was a truck driver for the former SuperValu grocery warehouse in Rostraver and retired in 1995. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Houston.
He is survived by his 3 sons; Lewis J. (Amy) Comer; Jr. of Washington;with whom he made his home; James A. Comer of Rostraver; and David A. (Becky) Comer of Belle Vernon; daughter; Beatrice Porter of New Kensington; 3 grandchildren; Chris Porter and Austin & Bayleigh Comer; mother-in-law; Yolan Turda of Rostraver; 7 sisters; Edith Steadman & Betty Lebe; both of Smithton; Evelyn Lynn of North Carolina; Helen Comer of Belle Vernon; Maxine Stahl & Madeline Fisher; both of Smithton; and Cheryl Hoffer of Acme; 2 uncles; Calvin Comer of Smithton and Samuel Comer of West Newton; and caregiver; Kathy Gross of Washington.

She was born April 7;1921 in Fayette City;a daughter of the late William Snell and Laura Steinman Sible. Dorothy graduated from Charleroi High School with the class of 1938;then attended California University of Pa;where she met and married her college sweetheart Frank H.Huseman. While serving in the Navy during WWII;his ship was lost at sea in the Pacific. She later married Wilfred E.(Erbie) Easton;Jr.with whom she shared 49 wonderful years of marriage in Charleroi. She was also preceded in death by a son;Thomas C.Huseman;and her sisters Clara Beswick and Edna Bittner. Dorothy is survived by her children;Nancy and Robert Gottheld of Greensburg;PA;Jack and Carol Easton of Sandy;UT;Eric and Susan Easton of Henderson;NV;grandchildren Amy (Aaron) Zaph and Alyssa (Gregory) Frederick of FL;Scott (Renee) Huseman of NJ;and Sydney;Cameron;and Owen Easton of NV;along with five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Edward A. Ted Barker; 93; of Belle Vernon; Lynnwood; passed away peacefully on Saturday; Oct. 19; 2013; at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born July 28; 1920; in Monessen; he was the son of the late Albert E. and Lillian Henry Barker. A resident of Belle Vernon for over 70 years; Mr. Barker was a craneman at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen Plant; for 42 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church; Fayette City; the BPOE Elks of Monessen for 72 years; bowled with various leagues until March 2013 and enjoyed trips with his wife and daughter to the casinos. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The family wishes to express appreciation for the professional and caring team of physicians; nurses and staff at Jefferson Hospital for their outstanding care.
