Lillian R. Narbut peacefully passed away in sleep Sunday; Dec. 6; 2009; at her home. She was 98 years of age and had been in declining health for some time. Born March 11; 1911; in Pricedale to Harold and Teresa Round; she was married in 1933 to John P. Narbut (deceased January 29; 2004). Lillian; an honors student at Rostraver High School; graduated from Monessen High School in 1929. She attended California Normal School; attaining her teacher’s certificate and taught many years in the Rostraver Township School system; first teaching eight grades in a one room schoolhouse; then LaGrange; Fellsburg and Belle Vernon. Lillian is survived by her children; Harold and Kerin; their spouses and children; Mary Narbut; John T. Yates; Jr.; Anthony and Laurance Narbut; Geoffrey and Nathan Yates and six great grandchildren; Andrew; Caitlin; Sara; Steven; Lauren and Hannah. She is also survived by daughters of her sister; Gladys Kefover (deceased Sept. 17; 1955); June (Mrs. Richard) Kefover and Diane (Mrs. Paul) Marraccini. E. Mabel Round; who was like a sister to Lillian; predeceased her in May of 2005. Lillian requested that anyone who feels they wish to show respect and love for me; do something for someone who needs a friend or helping hand. Private funeral services were handled by the James C. James C. Wergin; 61; of Webster; passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday; April 16; 2011; in the emergency room at Monongahela Valley Hospital. A son of the late Russell and Catherine Wilkinson Wergin; he was born Feb. 12; 1950; in Belle Vernon. For many years Jim was the owner of J&W Contracting in Carroll Township. In his spare time he liked to fish and to ride his Harley. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years; Betty Cricket Koster Wergin; two daughters; Roxanne and Jamie Wergin; a son; James Russell Wergin; five grandchildren; Brandon; Ashley; Zachary; Rosa and Lena; one sister; Linda VanAsselt and husband; David; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother; Barry. Friends will be received Tuesday; April 19; from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the MELENYZER-DUBARR FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATION SERVICES INC.; 825 Fallowfield Ave.; Charleroi; where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday; April 20; at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
