Donald Raymond Ritzer; 85; of Charleroi; died Friday; Oct. 19; 2012; in his home. He was born Feb. 19; 1927; in Monessen; a son of the late Mary James and George Ritzer. Mr. Ritzer was a World War II veteran; having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church; American Legion Post No. 22 and the BPOE Lodge No. 494; all of Charleroi. He retired from the Monessen Southwestern Railroad in 1986 and had worked at the Exxon 70 Service Plaza for 15 years. Mr. Ritzer is survived by his son; Don Ray Ritzer and wife; Vonnie; of Elizabeth; two stepsons; Geary Shipley and wife; Kymberly; and Glenn Shipley and wife; Stacy; both of Charleroi; daughter-in-law; Connie Ritzer of Munhall; two granddaughters; Crystal Aston and husband; Brian and Sara Ritzer; four stepgrandchildren; Tonya Shipley; Geary Shipley Jr.; Jeromey Shipley and Raechel Shipley; and one stepgrandson; Dominic Shipley. Also surviving is his niece; Jane Lee Gibson of Florida. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his first wife Florence “Snooks” Ritzer; his second wife; Jacquline Shipley Ritzer; and his son; Terry L. Ritzer. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC.; 226 Fallowfield Ave.; Charleroi; where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Mary Jane Kibler; 88; of Charleroi; on Wednesday; April 28; 2010; in her home. Born in Charleroi on Oct. 27; 1921; she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Bess Johnson Collins. Besides her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; William; and two brothers; Fred and Robert Collins. She retired from Charleroi School District as a teacher’s aide. She was Presbyterian by faith. She is survived by her daughter; Carol Krutz; and a granddaughter; Arnie Hopkins; both of Charleroi. Walter Chick Poppy Strahosky; 91; of Donora; formerly of North Belle Vernon; died Friday; April 18; 2014; at 3:48 a.m. at his home. Born May 1; 1922; in Monessen; he was the son of the late John and Kathryn Swansic Strahosky. Mr. Strahosky was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was a retired transfer operator from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen Plant. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army; was the recipient of the Purple Heart and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. He is survived by his wife; Wanda R. Nardi Strahosky to whom he was married 68 years; two daughters and sons-in-law; Nancy and Dwain Johnson of Donora; and Janet Strahosky and husband; Norman Mast; of Avalon; 10 grandchildren Rachel and Joe Bunta; Frank Tokach; Naomi Harris; Alexander Mast; Keri and Matt Zipay; Matt Komlos; Nicole Verin; Dalton Smith; Tyler Verin; and Koreyanne Smith; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; Michael and Nancy Komlos; Kathy and Tom Smith; Joann and Steve Verin; along with several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Steve Strahosky; Alec Strahosky; Albert Stacey; and Boris Strahosky; and three sisters; Mary Strahosky; Olga Campa and Natalie Landsperger.
