Edwin T. Latchem Sr.; 72; of Washington Township; died Wednesday; Nov. 26; 2008; in Allegheny General Hospital; Pittsburgh. He was born in North Charleroi on Jan. 10; 1936; a son of the late Willard and Harriet (McMurray) Latchem. Ed grew up in Charleroi and was a 1953 graduate of Charleroi High School. He received his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Penn State University. Mr. Latchem was a P.E. Civil Engineer; having retired from PennDOT in May 2007. He had worked in the same capacity for numerous construction companies over the years. Mr. Latchem was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers; the Washington Township Planning Commission since 2001; and an alumnus of Theta Chi Fraternity at Penn State University. Ed served his country from 1957 to 1959 as a member of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 24 years; Judy (Zimmaro) Latchem; three sons; Edwin T. Latchem Jr.; of Greensburg; Stephen Latchem; of Austin; Texas; and Mark Krusec; of Silver Spring; Md.; his daughter and son-in-law; Carol and James Bischoff; of Newark; Del.; a brother; Floyd Latchem; of Uniontown; four grandchildren; Derek; Maxwell; Isabella and Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marlene Bevan; 75; of Washington Township; Belle Vernon; died Monday; Oct. 25; 2010; in Southwestern Nursing Center; Pleasant Hills. The daughter of the late John and Margaret Winstone Mesher; she was born in McKeesport on Jan. 10; 1935. A graduate of Donora High School; she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon; where she served as an Elder; Clerk of Session; and a member of its H.O.A. class. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star; Monessen Chapter 205. Retired from Black Mountain Inc.; she was employed for many years at Sager Coal Company and Equibank N.A. Marvin S. Bevan; 75; of Washington Township (Belle Vernon); died Monday; Dec. 1; 2008; in his home. A son of the late John M. and Phillis (Murray) Bevan; he was born in North Charleroi on Dec. 1; 1933. A graduate of Charleroi High School; he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon; where he served as an elder and deacon; the church’s Men’s Association; and was active assisting in maintaining the church facilities and landscaping. Marvin was a past president of the Washington Township Lions Club; had served on the board of directors and was the treasurer of the APS Federal Credit Union for many years and; in the 1970’s; was active in coaching Pony League baseball. He was also a member of the Washington Township Recreation Committee and volunteered his time in maintaining the township’s sports fields. A U.S. Army veteran; he served in Germany and retired from the former West Penn Power Company after 44 years of service. Survivors include his wife; Marlene Mesher Bevan; with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage on April 28; 2008; two sons and daughters-in-law; Marvin and Lara Bevan; of State College; and Jeffrey and Katherine Bevan; of Murphy; N.C.; one sister; Nancy Jones; of Donora; and nieces and nephews who were special to him. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by four sisters; Marilyn Marklewicz; Priscilla Stickle; Doris Bevan and Jane Thomas; and one brother; John M.
