Born April 18;1917;in Belle Vernon;she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Rodgers Basile. Mrs.Harrison was a member of Pricedale Union Church and the Belle Vernon Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband;John Jack Thomas Harrison;four brothers;James;Rohland;Ross and Anthony Basile;all of Belle Vernon and one sister;Mary Mate of Pittsburgh. Ruth Leithold Tiernan Horning;85;of Belle Vernon Apartments;died Thursday;Jan.9;1997;in Mon Valley hospital. She was born in Arnold City;May 11;1911;a daughter of the late Paul and Ella Chambers Leithold. Mrs.Horning was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church. She had resided in Belle Vernon since April of 1996 and was formerly of Uniontown and the state of California. Born Jan.20;1904;in Donora;she was the daughter of the late Louis and Vera Boyd Columbus. Mrs.Hohenberger had been employed at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen;where she had operated the executive dining room for 20 years. She was a member of the Independent Methodist Church in New Castle and the First Presbyterian Recreation Center. In addition to her parents whe was preceded in death by her husband;William S.Hohenberger;whom she married Sept.9;1920;and who died Dec.25;1985;three brothers;LeRoy;Clarence and Donald Columbus;four sisters;Lena Edwards;Grace Hayes;Wilda Mellon and Evelyn Columbus and a son;Sheldon Hohenberger. Care Center; Harrisville; after
a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 21; 1910; in Durham; N.C.; she was the
daughter of the late John and
Alma Humphries.
She graduated from Monessen High School in 1932 and
was a member of Wayman
A.M.E. Church; Monessen; for
most of her life. She was active
in the Sunday School and
A.C.E. League; as well as serving as assistant pianist and as a
member of the Missionary
Society.
She enjoyed music and spent
many hours in the Senior Room
at the Monessen Health Center.
In addition to her parents;
she was preceded in death by
her twin sister; Mary; another
sister; Ruth; and four brothers;
John Jr.; James; Samuel and
Joseph.
Surviving are two daughters;
Wynona Campbell of Detroit;
Mich.; and Hiawatha Humphries of Monessen; two sisters;
Dorcus Glasco and Naiomi
Fowler; both of Washington;
D.C.; a sister-in-law; Mildred
Humphries of Monessen; two
granddaughters; Marna and
Angela of Detroit; and three
great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in
Wayman A.M.E. Church;
