Mrs. Jones was born March 9;1917 in Monessen;a daughter of the late Robert J. and Sadie Molby McKissick. She was a life-long resident of the Mon Valley area. Mrs.Jones was a member of the First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;the Ruth Circle of the church;the Belle Vernon and Charleroi Golden Agers;the AARP;and the Tuesday Evening Circle Club of Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents;she was also preceded in death by a daughter;Sandra Lee Hazelbaker;who died Sept.9;1982. Two half-brothers;George and Edward Fretz and two half-sisters;Florence and Hazel Fretz;are also deceased. Surviving are her husband;Edgar F.Jones;one son;Edgar F.Jones Jr;at home; one daughter;Mrs.Frank (Linda) Patrick;of Belle Vernon;11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the LEONARD J.PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; 626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. She was born March 23;1896;in Richwood;W.Va.;a daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Monroe. Mrs.Jackson was preceded in death by her husband;Whitfeld Jackson;who died Aug.10;1941;and a brother;John Monroe;who died in 1956. Mrs.Jackson was a resident of Washington for the past five years;having moved there from the Green Hill area of Pricedale. She was a member of Pleasant Greene AME Church in Pricedale and was very active with the church until taking ill. She was a former mother and stewardess of the church. She is survived by three daughters;twins Mabel Bowman of Pricedale and Mazel Newhill of Duarte;Calif.;and Martha Chambers of Washngton;Pa.;a devoted son-in-law;Charles Chambers of Washington;Pa.;three grandchildren;Betty Lawson of Pricedale;James Jackson of Charleroi and Robert Steward;serving with the U.S.Navy in San Diego;Calif.;six great-grandchildren;four great-great-grandchildren;and a host of nephews and nieces and other relatives. Mr.Johnson was a member of the Newell United Methodist Church and was a peacetime veteran of service in the U.S.Army. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Allenport Plant.
