Joseph Kossar of Belle Vernon R.D.2 died Saturday at 1:10 p.m. in Veteran’s Hospital;Aspinwall. He was 64. Mr.Kossar was born July 14;1918;in Donora;a son of the late Peter and Mary Loss Kossar. A resident of the Belle Vernon area for the past 40 years;he was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church. Mr.Kossar was a veteran of World War II;having served with the U.S.Army. He retired in August of 1980 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Monessen Plant;where he had worked as a rigger. Survivors include his widow;Rose Telleck Kossar;one son;Gerald J.Kossar of Mars;three brothers;John of Monongahela and Andrew and Peter;both of Monessen;and three sisters;Mrs.Charles (Anne)Charnak;Mrs.Robert (Sue) Faulks and Mrs.Edward (Mary) Biszaha;all of Monessen. Lavurn A.Kiefer;a lifelong resident of Monessen;died Friday April 15;1983;at 5:25 a.m. at Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg. She was 86. Born Oct.7;1897;in Duquesne;she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Bernmaster Kiefer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monessen. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;John;in 1952;a son;Raymond in May;1962;a brother Raymond on May 20;1966;and a sister;Thelma in November;1976. Surviving are four daughters;Mrs.John (Elma) Mudron of Monessen;Mrs.Robert (Frances) Lowe of Monessen;Mrs.Donald (Lydabelle) Woods of Charleroi and Olive Kiefer of Donora. Also surviving are two sons;Rodney Kiefer of Belle Vernon and Larry of Donora;a sister;Loretta Worley and a brother;Arthur;both of Pittsburgh;14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Mr. Klisowski was also a
member of the Citizens
Association and the
Hungarian Club; both of
Priccdale.
He was a U.S. Navy
veteran of World War II; having served as a Petty Officer
First Class fire controlman.
Mr. Klisowski retired in
1980 from the Allenport Plant
of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel
Corp.; where he had been
employed as head roller in
the No. 3 hot mill.
In addition to his parents he
was preceded in death by two
brothers; Paul in 1971 and Charles in 1976. Survivors include his widow;Mary Sellaro Klisowki;one daughter;Kathy L. at home;one sister;Mrs.Lloyd (Nell) Amprim of Belle Vernon;and several nieces and nephews. Mr.Komlos was born Oct.13;1921;in Monessen;a son of the late Andrew and Helen Garber Komlos. He retired in 1977 as a metallurgical observer with the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr. Komlos was preceded in death by his wife;Mary Ann Nardi Komlos;on Sept.21;1973;and by two brothers;John and Andrew Komlos. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II.
