A five-year-old boy from Fairhaven;Mich.;whose father formerly lived in Monessen;drowned near his home Tuesday;Aug.27;1963;about noon. The victim;James Robert Beeman;was the son of Mr.and Mrs.Walter Beeman Jr. The boy was born in Florida;Sept.21;1957;and later was baptized at the First Methodist Church in Monessen. The child had been playing outdoors and was missed about noon on Tuesday. The Beemans live on Canal Way;where children in the neighborhood frequently play along the docks near their homes. When the Beemans reported their son missing;police authorities ordered dragging of the canal. The boy’s body was discovered in the canal about 2 p.m. Wednesday. Surviving besides his parents are two brothers;Jeffrey and Gregory;and a sister;Melody Ann;all at home;paternal grandparents;Robert and Peg (Vance) McLaughlin of Monessen;and maternal grandparents;Mr.and Mrs.James Smiles of England. Friends will be received at the Edwin Melenyzer Funeral Home in Monesen after 7 p.m. Friday. Service will be held there Saturday;Aug.31;1963;at 2:30 p.m.and will be in charge of the Rev.Jackson A.Gabany of the Methodist Church in Monessen. Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery.

in 1956 after nearly 40 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Castle and the American Legion Post 22; Charleroi.

1940; he is survived by a daughter; Mrs. LeRoy (Doris) Columbus; with whom he made his
home and a brother; Harry; of
Belle Vernon. The body has been removed from the William F.DeCarbo Funeral Home on Cunningham Ave.to the Shelby Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon where friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.on Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m.Tuesday;July 16;1963;with Rev.John Calvin Myers officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
