Joseph P.Caputo;executive director of Fayette County Housing Authority died suddenly at 9:21 p.m.Saturday;June 21;1975;at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill (Harrisburg). He had been admitted at 8:50 p.m. Mr.Caputo;who lived at 336 Main St.;Belle Vernon;was 51. As director of the Fayette County Housing Authority;he was instrumental in the developmentof the Joseph P.Caputo Retirement Apartments;a high-rise for elderly residents;which is currently under construction in Belle Vernon. It is scheduled to be completed in August. He was also treasurer of Fayette Grocers Assoc.Realty Corp.and was active in numerous civic;fraternal and religious organizations. He was born in Belle Vernon on April 6;1924;a son of the late Frank and Barbara Desimone Caputo. He was graduated from Belle Vernon High School in 1941 and earned a certificate in business science at Douglas Business College. He was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church of Belle Vernon;and the Parish Council. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus;Belle Vernon Council 3026.
