She was born in Dunlevy and lived all her life in this vicinity. She was a member of St.Jerome R.C.Church of Charleroi;Catholic Daughters of America;Court Charleroi. She was preceded in death by her husband;Alvie H.Dennis;in 1967. William Dews;81;died at midnight;June 16;1973;at his home at 122 Branthoover St.in Arnold City. He was born Feb.15;1892;at Evington;Va.;the son of the late James and Emily Dews. He was a deacon at Antioch Baptist Church;Belle Vernon. Mr. Dews was a member of Monessen Masons 79;F&AM;and National Asociation for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He was a retired coal miner. He is survived by his widow;Rosa;and two sons;James Dews of Arnold City and Thomas Hurt of Youngstown;Ohio;and four grandchildren. Born Dec.10;1899;in Bunola;he was the son of the late William and Nora Penn Dawson. He had resided in the Belle Vernon area for more than 60 years. Mr.Dawson was a retired general foreman of Rust Engineering Corp of Pittsburgh.
