Lester Gales;59;of 327 Philip St.;Speers Hill;who was a U.S.Lock engineer;died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital yesterday at 10:30 p.m. Mr.Gales had lived most of his life in the Speers vicinity. He was born in Coal Center;Sept.30;1905;the son of the late Joseph and Mary Murphy Gales. Surviving are his widow;Elizabeth Gartland Gales;one son;John L.of Speers;two daughters;Mrs.David (Elizabeth) McClaskey of Pittsburgh and Mrs.Joseph (Margaret) Flint of Youngstown;Ohio;seven grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home;Chrleroi;and funeral services will be held there Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.James Irey in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
