Mrs.Elmira McCraw Lacy;80;of 960 Grant Ave.;Monessen;died Wednesday;Sept.29;1965;at 6 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.after a long illness. Mrs.Lacy was born in Salem;Va.;Jan.19;1885;and had been a Monessen resident since 1924. Mrs.Lacy was a member of Union Baptist Church;Monessen;and was mother of the church. She was president of the Senior Missionary Society and past assistant superintendent of the Sunday School of the church. She had been president of th Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association Women’s home and Foreigh Missionary Convention for 33 years and was past vice president of the Pennsylvania State Baptist Women’s Convention and vice president of the Lott Carey Missionary Convention. She was a member of Coury of Calanthe of Scottdale.
Surviving are two daughters;Mrs.Helen Little;with whom she made her home;Mrs.Etta Wilson of Pittsburgh;three sons;Maurice of Aquasco;Md.;Harry of Monessen and Clarence of Pittsburgh;seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Beverly Draper Funeral Home;Monessen. Funeral services will be held from the Union Baptist Church;Monessen;Saturday;Oct.2;1965;at 1 p.m. the Rev.D.D.Chatman will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold Lewis Sr.;57;a member of the Roscoe Council;died in Washington Hospital Tuesday;May 4;1965;at 11:55 a.m.after a lengthy illness. Mr.Lewis made his home at 305 Lynn St.;Roscoe. He was employed at the Allenport plant of Pittsburgh Steel. Born in Charleroi on Feb.2;1908;he was the son of the late Charles and Mayme Gamiel Lewis. Surviving are his widow;Emily Swinhoe Lewis;two sons;Harold Jr.of Elco and Darrell at home;two daughters;Mrs.Wanda Farkos and Mrs.Judy Bizet;both of Stockdale;two brothers;Ralph of Largo;Fla.;and Russell of Ontario;Calif.;one sister;Mrs.Ruth McKain of Elyris;Ohio;five grandchildren. Mrs.Josephine Levandosky;of 1389 Fayette Ave.;Belle Vernon (Fairhope);died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Sunday;April 18;1965;at 5:30 a.m. Mrs.Lewvandosky was born in Poland. She was a member of the Scared Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church of Monessen;the P.N.U.Lodge 190 of Scranton;the Polish National Alliance of Arnold City. She had lived in Pittsburgh coming to Fairhope 45 years ago. Preceding her in death were her husband;Joseph on Nov.30;1958;a sons;Stanley in 1952;and a daughter;Mrs.Faye Bilski in 1962. Surviving are three sons;Caesar of North Charlroi;Zygmund of Fayette City;and Edward at home;three daughters;Mrs.Jennie Badock and Mrs.Virginia Barnot;both of Fairhope;Mrs.Wanda Jaskowick of Warren;Ohio;fifteen grandchildren;and seven great-grandchildren. Viola M.Lynch;83;of 522 Fayette St.;Belle Vernon;died at her home;Friday;Nov.20;1964;at 12:05 a.m. Born in the Perryopolis area;March 6;1881;a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Williams Lynch;she had lived almost her entire lifetime in Belle Vernon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church;Belle Vernon. Preceded in death by a brother;Glenn Lynch in 1954;she is survived by several cousins.
