The husband;Joseph Mazza;75;was pronounced dead of natural causes at his home at 419 Bluff St.Wednesday;Jan.27;1965. His wife;Lucia;80;died of natural causes in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital;Thursday morning;Jan.28;1965. The couple had been married 55 years. Both were born in Italy;Mr.Mazza on Nov.19;1889;and Mrs.Mazza;Feb.3;1884. A resident of Belle Vernon for 50 years;Mr.Mazza was a retired employee of the Allenport Plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Mrs.Mazza had resided in Belle Vernon since 1921. Their survivors include a son;Antonio (Sam) Mazza;Monessen;one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Guy Fuller Martin;88;died at his residence in the Roscoe Hotel;Roscoe on Saturday;January 9;1965;at 12:05 a.m. He was born in Washington R.D.;Sept.24;1876;a son of the late George and Letitia Strickler Martin. He was retired from the finishing department of the Allenport Plant;Pittsburgh Steel Co. Surviving are three sons;William;Charleroi;Frank;Roscoe and Alden;Somerset;a daughter;Olga Martin;Blairsville;four grandchildren;six great-grandchildren. A 36-year-old man was burned to death and four other persons;including his parents;were either burned or injured when an early morning fire of unknown origin completely destroyed a two-story frame home at Perryopolis R.D.2 in Washington Twp. Dead is William Matthews;a Monessen native who was employed at the Allenport plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Mr.Matthews;who lived at the home of his parents;was sleeping on a sofa in the sunporch on the first floor and the others were in upstairs bedrooms of the eight-room house when the devastating fire struck about 1:30 a.m. His body could not be reached by the family because of roaring flames and the remains could not be recovered until after the five-hour fire was extinguished. Today was to have been a happy day for the household. Mr.Matthews and his fiance;Irene Padovani of Charleroi;were to look for a home prior to their intended marriage. He was a World War II veteran;serving in the U.S.Navy. Besides his parents;Mr.Matthews is survived by a sister;Mrs.Silvie (Cleo) Angeline;Monessen. Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m.at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City. Burial will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery. The destroyed home was located on the old Redstone Church Road near Duney’s farm. None of its contents was saved.

Mike Emanuel Marinos;72;of 145 Lynnwood Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;Nov.8;1964;at 1:30 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mr.Marinos was born in Chios;Greece;Aug.6;1892;and was retired seven years ago from Pittsburgh Steel Co.;Monessen plant. He was a member of St.Spyridon G.O.Church;Monessen and the GAPA Lodge of Monessen. Surviving are his widow;Elizabeth Toth Marinos;three sons;Robert J.and Samuel M.;both of Fairhope and Loius E.;at home;a daughter;Susan;at home;four grandchildren.
