William C.McGee;of 512 Tenth St.;Monessen;died Saturday;Oct.9 at 10:30 p.m. at his home after a long illness. Born in Paducah;Ky.on Aug.8;1900;Mr.McGee was a member of the Wayman A.M.E.Church of Monessen and was a Monessen tavern owner for many years. Surviving are his widow;Hiawatha;one son;William R.McGee of Aliquippa;and two daughters;Mrs.Marjorie Kenney of Monessen and Audrey McGee of Harrisburg. Two brothers and trhee sisters also survive;along with five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Alta Mae Myrtle;83;of Allenport died Monday;Aug.30;1971;at 6 p.m. in Charleroi-Monesen Hospital. She was born in Coal Run; Ohio;on June 25;1889;and had
lived in Allenport the last 55
years. She was a member of the Allenport United Methodist Church
and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by
her husband;Roy;on Sept. 17; 1956. Surviving are one son; Lawrence James Myrtle of Belle Vernon; one daughter;Mrs. Jack (Elsie) Todd of Stroall Acres;Allenport;two brothers; Wells Shockle of Dayton;Ky.; and Emmett Shockley of Springdale;Pa.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
