He was 70 and his residence was on Ridge Road;Belle Vernon;R.D.3. Mr.Nichols was born in Sturgeon on Nov.7;1902;a son of the late Joseph and Sarah Bowater Nichols. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.after 44 years of service. Preceding him in death was his wife;Virginia Jean Tomasi Nichols;on March 11;1965. He was a veteran of World War II. He retired due to ill health from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.in 1969. He is survived by his widow;Vivian Smiddle Novakovich;a son;Paul;and a daughter;Patricia;both at home;two brothers;Anthony of Britt;Minn.;and Nick of Walla Walla;Wash.;three sisters;Mrs.Matthew (Stefa) Mashuga of Chisholm;Minn.;Mrs.Arvo (Helen) Lahti of Aurora;Minn.;and Mrs.Orlando (Frances) Gentile of Gilbert;Minn.
