John Petros;age 49;a resident of 206 Dent St.;Fairhope;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;Dec.1;1973;at 4:15 p.m.in the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Washington Township;Fayette County;on May 6;1924;son of the late Michael and Catherine Matlik Petros. He was a veteran of World War II;having served in the U.S.Army;and was a member of the Brightwell Daughtery Post 484 American Legion;Fayette City. He was a retired employee of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Corporation’s Allenport Plant. Surviving are his wife;Betty Misher Petros;two daughters;Mrs.William (Candy) Patterson of Fairhope and Cindy at home;one brother;Michael of Charleroi;two sisters;Miss Irene Petros of Pittsburgh and Mrs.Joseph (Mary) Karbowsky of Monessen. Friends are being received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m.with Rev.Charles Colas;pastor of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon;officiating. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs.Eunice Petitto;65;of 610 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday;June 19;1973;in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Belle Vernon on July 16;1908;and was a lifelong resident of the community. Mrs.Petitto belonged to St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;and Court Belle Vernon;Catholic Daughters of America. Surviving are her husband;Joseph Petitto;three daughters;Mrs.Lee (Mary) Schaffer of San Bernadino;Calif.;Mrs.Marty (Gilda) DeBernadina of Washington;Pa.;and Mrs.John (Emma Jean) Carpini of Oregon;one son;Alvin J.Petitto of Belle Vernon;13 grandchildren;and two great-grandchildren and the following sister and brothers;Virginia;Orlando;Roger;Donald and Albert Spina. He was born in West Newton on Dec.31;1899;the son of Simon and Mary Lelco Prosba. Mr.Prosba was a retired employee of Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp.;California;Pa.;having worked as a clerk. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Williamsport;Monongahela Valley Lodge of the F&AM;California and Syria Temple;Pittsburgh. Mrs.Anna Petrak;83;of 411 Oakland Ave.;Charleroi;died at 12:20 a.m. Friday;March 16;1973;in the Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Born April 25;1889;in Czechoslovakia;the deceased was a resident of the Charleroi area for the past 55 years. She was a member of St.John’s Slovak Lutheran Church of Charleroi. Surviving are three daughters;Mrs.Helen Huffman of Charleroi;Mrs.Walter (Millie) Brazon of Lynnwood and Mrs.Melvin (Ethel) Zubritsky of Monessen. Another daughter;Marie;preceded her in death in 1958. Six grandchildren also survive. Friends are being received from 2 to 5 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m.today and tomorrow at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home;Third St.;and Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi. A devotional service will be held at 2 p.m.Sunday in the funeral home;where services will take place at 11 a.m.Monday;with the Rev.Stephen Hurnyak of St.John’s Slovak Lutheran Church of Charleroi in charge.
