Wexford House Nursing Care
Center.
Born Aug. 12; 1889; in Pittsburgh;
he was a son of the late
Oliver and Rose Tarr and had
resided in the Pittsburgh district
the past 20 years.
Mr. Tarr was a retired electrician
at the Monessen Plant of
Wheeling – Pittsburgh Steel
Corp.
He was a member of the Belle
Vernon Lodge 643; Free & Accepted
Order of Masons (F&
AM); and the United Presbyterian
Church when he resided in
Belle Vernon.
He was preceded in death by
his wife; Jeanne Parent Tarr.
Surviving are two daughters;
Mrs. Adele Furey; with whom
he resided in Pittsburgh; and
Mrs. Lorayne Cauffiel; one son;
Charles; four grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.
Friends are being received
from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the
H. P. Brandt Funeral Home;
1032 Perry Highway; Perrysville;where services will be held Friday at 10 a.m.;with the Rev.Leslie Kessler of the United Presbyterian Church of Alliquippa in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. H.P.Brandt is the funeral director in charge.

Clarence E.Turner;57;1037 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;died at his home on Monday;Jan.6;1975;at 6:30 p.m. He was born in Pricedale on Feb.4;1917;son of William and Minnie Kirkpatrick Turner;and was a lifelong resident of the area. Mr.Turner was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are a son;Clarence Turner;a brother;John W.Turner of Pricedale;a sister;Mrs.Frank (Alberta) Novak of Cleveland;Ohio;and one grandchild. John Thorpe pf Green Hill;Pricedale;died Saturday morning;July 7;1973 at 2:30 a.m. Mr. Thorpe was born Jan.12;1890;in Eastman;Ga.and came to Monessen in 1917. He was employed in the shipping department of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen;and retired in 1960. He was a member of AME Chruch;Pricedale;and George Washington Carver Lodge 8 AM&AM;West Newton. Mr.Thorpe is survived by his widow;Mrs.Harriet Thorpe;Philadelphia;four sons;Joseph Jackson of Banning;Calif.;Samuel Thorpe of Monessen;John Henry Thorpe of Pittsburgh and John Henry Davis of Philadelphia;three daughters;Audrelee Smith of Swainton;N.J.;Mrs.Ulah Mae Abbott of Monessen and Anna B.White of Belle Vernon;18 grandchildren;20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
