John Axton;age 45 years;formerly of Belle Vernon;who has resided in Henryetta;Oklahoma;for the past thirteen years;died there Friday;September 27;1946;at 6 p.m.;after an illness of two weeks.  He was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon and was employed as a cutter for the Pittsburgh Plate Glass company in Henryetta.  He is survived by his wife;Mrs.Lillie Axton of Heryetta;his mother;Mrs.Anna B.Axton of Belle Vernon;and four sisters;Mrs.Ed Layton of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Helen Miles of California State;Mrs.John Cherboch of Monongahela and Mrs.Irene Harding of Belle Vernon.   Friends will be received at the home of his mother;Mrs.Anna B.Axton;107 Water street;Belle Vernon;after Tuesday morning;October 1.  Services will be held there Wednesday;October 2;1946;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.George L.Kress.  Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Chas.L.and Edwin Melenyzer are the funeral directors.

James Dunlap Adams;aged 76 years;former Pittsburgh Steel employee;and resident of Monessen;who has been living for some time in Belle Vernon;died Friday;October 5;1945;at 1:30 o’clock a.m.in the Monessen-Charleroi hospital.  Surviving are two sisters;Miss Sadie Adams;Belle Vernon;and Mrs.John Dayen;of the state of California;a brother;Herbert Adams;of Pittsburgh.  His wife and a daughter preceded him in death.  Friends are being received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home;where services will be held Sunday;October 7;1945 at 2 p.m.;with Rev.Frank James;pastor of the Methodist Church;officiating.  Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Charles L.Melenyzer and Edwin F.Melenyzer;funeral directors. 

Edward Baxter Armentrout;67;of Eighty Four R.D.2;North Bethlehem Township;died Tuesday;April 10;1945;at 5:30 p.m. in the Washington Hospital;following an operation. Mr.Armentrout had resided in North Bethlehem Township;where he was a farmer;for the past seven years;previously residing in Charleroi. He was born in West Virginia;Dec.22;1877;a son of the late James and Sennia Miller Armentrout. He is survived by his wife;Sevanna Mae Armentrout;the following sons and daughters;Mrs.Bessie Bee;Pittsburgh;James Edward;Wellsburg;W.Va.;Mrs.James B.Hickle;Keyser;W.Va.;Mrs.Nellie Frances;Keyser;W.Va.;Robert;at home;Charles of Roscoe;Mrs.John Homer Martin;at home;and Mrs.Irene Morris;Brady;Tex.;four brothers;Ott and Charles;of Kline.W.Va.;Leon;of Flemington;W.Va.;and Ben;of Belington;W.Va.;a sister;Mrs.Rose Shreeves;Gormania;W.Va. Services will be held at the late home Saturday;April 14;1945;at 2 p.m. Rev.Frank S.Montgomery will have charge of services. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon cemetery.
