John Axton;age 45 years;formerly of Belle Vernon;who has resided in Henryetta;Oklahoma;for the past thirteen years;died there Friday;September 27;1946;at 6 p.m.;after an illness of two weeks. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon and was employed as a cutter for the Pittsburgh Plate Glass company in Henryetta. He is survived by his wife;Mrs.Lillie Axton of Heryetta;his mother;Mrs.Anna B.Axton of Belle Vernon;and four sisters;Mrs.Ed Layton of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Helen Miles of California State;Mrs.John Cherboch of Monongahela and Mrs.Irene Harding of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the home of his mother;Mrs.Anna B.Axton;107 Water street;Belle Vernon;after Tuesday morning;October 1. Services will be held there Wednesday;October 2;1946;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.George L.Kress. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
