Cpl.James Jones;Jr.;22;of Belle Vernon;a veteran of action in Italy;died Wednesday;January 24;1945;at 12:15 p.m.at the Fitzsimmons Hospital;Denver;Colorado.Corporal Jones;who had been in the service two years;was stricken ill while serving with the American forces in Italy. He was recently returned to the United States and on Monday his mother was summoned to his bedside by a report that his condition was critical. On Wednesday his father received a telegram from Mrs.Jones stating their son had died. No other details were available pending the arrival of the body. Corporal Jones;a graduate of North Belle Vernon High School;is survived by his parents;four brothers;Cpl.William in Corsica;Staff Sgt.Colvin in Boston;Mass.;Henry in New York and George at home. Four sisters also survive;Alice E.McCullun;Ruth and Nancy;at home;and Betty in New York. Funeral services will be held Monday;January 29;at 2:00 p.m.at the Antioch Church;Belle Vernon;with Rev.Louis Stewart officiating. Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery. Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Jones;age 76;widow of the late Clarence Jones;Sr.;died at 2:35 p.m.;Tuesday afternoon;September 5;1933;at her home;305 Roley street;North Belle Vernon;following a lingering illness. The deceased had been a resident of North Belle Vernon for a long period of years and was a life-long member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. She is survived by three sons;Clarence Jones;Jr.;of Lancaster;Ohio;and Clyde and Charles Jones;of Belle Vernon;also two daughters;Mrs.Albert Hendrickson and Mrs.James Everette of Belle Vernon;and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday;September 8;1933;at 2 p.m.;from the late home in charge of Rev.Buell;with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
