Sunday; May 22; 1938; at 1:30 in the
Charleroi-Monessen hospital where she was removed on Wednesday of
last week; when she was taken
critically ill. Death was due to
peritonitis.
Surviving are her husband; a
five months old daughter; her
father; James McGraw; of Belle
Vernon; three sisters; Mrs. Margaret Guiler; of Los Angeles California; Miss Elizabeth McGraw; of
Brownsville; Mrs. Catherine Fawcett of Belle Vernon; three brothers;
William and John McGraw; of
Pittsburgh and Joseph McGraw;
of Belle Vernon.
Funeral services are announced
for Wednesday; May 25; at 9:30 a.
m. at the St. Sebastian R. C.
Church; Belle Vernon; with Father
J. J. O’Connell officiating.

Succumbing as the result of a stroke;James A.Murphy;aged 57 years;of Charleroi;passed away Tuesday night;Feb.15;1938;at 10:55 o’clock at his home. He was well known in Charleroi and was at one time chief of police;serving under Burgesses Duvall and Tussing and as a patrolman under Burgess Woodward. Lately he had been employed as a watchman for the Pittsburgh Steel company at Monessen. His father;Anthony Murphy;passed away recently. Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Elizabeth Murphy;two sons;Harry and James;and one daughter;Margaret;at home. Also surviving are six sisters;Mrs.J.F.McKenna;Mrs.George Sewell and Miss Catherine Murphy;of Charleroi;Miss Stella Murphy and Mrs.Ruth M.Haas of Uniontown and Mrs.Richard Thebon;of Canton;Ohio. He was a member of St.Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church;where funeral services will be held with Requiem High Mass Saturday morning;Feb.19;at 9 o’clock;with interment to follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
