E.W.Reese;53;Belle Vernon borough;council and prominent fraternal figure;was found dead in bed this morning by his wife. He had died during the night of a heart attack. Reese attended the meeting of his Odd Fellows lodge last evening and appeared in excellent health. When his wife;Lena;went to call him for work;she discovered that he did not respond and summoned a doctor who pronounced him dead. Reese was president of Belle Vernon Fire Department No.2;a member of the Independence Order of Odd Fellows lodge No.636 and Belle Vernon lodge No.643 of F.& A.M. He came to Belle Vernon in 1903 and served an earlier term as councilman in the borough. Surviving besides his wife;is a daughter;Dorothy;a student nurse at McKeesport Hospital;five brothers and four sisters. They are Charles of Belle Vernon;Jess;Akron;O.;Dr.William Reese;Cuyhoga Falls;Christopher;in Oregon and Albert of Charleston;W.Va.;Mrs.Thomas MacDonald of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Richard Nelson of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Frank Wiedle;New Kensington;Mrs.Robert Adams of New Kensington. Friends are being received at the late home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday;October 17;with Revs.P.E.Mundy and H.F.Pierce officiating. Interment Belle Vernon cemetery. Roger William Rossi;Jr.;aged two years and three months;son of Mr.and Mrs.Roger Rossi;of Ohio street;Pricedale;formerly of Charleroi;died in Charleroi-Monessen hospital at 12:15 p.m.Wednesday;June 10;1942. Besides his parents;he is survived by his paternal grandparents;Mr.and Mrs.Romano Rossi of Dunlevy;his maternal grandmother;Mrs.William Turner and his great-maternal grandmother;Mrs.Ella Kirkpatrick;both of Pricedale. He was a member of the Cradle Roll of the Pricedale Union Church.The remains are at the late home where funeral services will be held Saturday;June 13;1942;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.John Andrew;pastor of the Nazarene Church;Belle Vernon. Mrs.Clara Jane Rowley;aged 75 years;wife of Harry Rowley;died at the family home No.3 Graham Street;Belle Vernon at 6:45 p.m.;Wednesday;November 27;1940. She had been ill over a long period. Mrs. Rowley had resided in Belle Vernon ever since she and her husband set up housekeeping there forty-nine years ago. She was an active member of the First Christian church. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters;Gertrude at home and Mrs.Homer Whetzel of Ford City;one brother;William Worrell;of Hazelhurst;PA.;and one sister;Mrs.Catherine Martin;of Belle Vernon;two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Remains are at the home where services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock by the Rev.James Rainey;pastor of First Christian church. Interment will follow in Gibsonton cemetery.
