Firman Ray;aged 73 years;died Thursday evening;August 20;1936;at 8:45 o’clock at his home in Highland avenue and Fourth street;North Charleroi. Surviving are his wife;Augustine and the following daughters and sons;Mrs.Charles Teulle;Mrs.Adrian Ray and Mrs.James Bayens;of Lock Four;Mrs.Joseph Pensis of Holidays Cove;W.Va.;Mrs.Jean Sepesky;of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Margaret Angioletti;of Monongahela;Augustine and Samuel Ray at home and Marion and Joseph Ray;of Lock Four. Funeral services will be held in St.Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church Sunday afternoon;August 23;at 2 o’clock. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Samuel Rhodes;Jr.;37;of Vestaburg;was instantly killed at 2:15;Thursday afternoon;;December 6;1935;while at work in the Vestaburg mine of the Vesta Coal Company. He was a machine man in the mine and was struck by a car in the mine. Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Linnie Gauden Rhodes;formerly of this city;and three small children. Mine officials were unable to state full details of the accident but it was learned a mine car had passed over him. He formerly lived in Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock from the late home with interment following in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
